Is there a waterfall that can match the high Angel Falls in Venezuela? Waterfalls located on the Rio Caroni, Canaima National Park is believed to be the highest waterfall in the world. Just imagine, 979 meters from the ground, compared with only Dubai tower is 800 meters.
To reach Angel Falls, we had to fly from Puerto Ordaz or Ciudad Bolivar to Canaima Camp. From here cross the river to reach the location. Unfortunately, only between June and December of the river at this place is full of water. The locals call this waterfall with Vena Kerepakupai which means "waterfall in the deepest place" or Parakupa veins (falling from the highest point). The Spaniards, who had colonized South America called it the "Salto Angel".The name Angel Falls itself is used as an aviator of the United States, Jimmie Angel who first discovered this place.
Noted, a climber who finally managed to reach the top is John timo, George Bogel, David Nott, and Paul Straub. They reached the peak on January 13, 1971 after 9 1/2 day ascent.
